Dr. David Thornton

Secretary

Dr David Thornton is a licensed clinical pastoral therapist (TN LCPT #65). An integrative psychotherapist and broad spiritual traveler, David listens for the quiet within the storm, the deepest heartbeat of the hurting soul, and coaxes the psyche into finding and trusting again its own ancient wisdom. The greatest part of his work deals with healing from spiritual abuse and childhood trauma.

Ruth Strohmeier Rock

Treasurer

Ruth Rock is a writer, accountant and volunteer, serving organizations in Nashville. Her experience in small business and nonprofit administration lends itself to service on the board, as does her interest in healthcare and the arts. A Massey MBA and career in cost and budget accounting and financial reporting provide experience and insight into the business side of CATHARSIS Nashville.

Dr. Robbie Pinter

Time-Keeper

Dr. Robbie Pinter recently retired after teaching English at Belmont University for forty years. She now enjoys what was once her “career within a career” as she offers Spiritual Direction, writes, facilitates retreats and Centering Prayer groups. She attempts to open further to Spirit, and wants to stand with others in the Presence.

James E. Hill

Intern

James Hill is a fifth generation Nashvillian and a junior at Belmont University majoring in Public Relations. His hobbies include reading old books, spending time with animals, playing the violin, and volunteering. He hopes to work in nonprofit public relations after graduation.

Dr. Laura Kreiselmaier

Founder, CEO, & Lead Visionary

Technically not a Board member, Laura Kreiselmaier has had the vision for CATHARSIS simmering for over a decade. She is thrilled to be on this journey with such a tremendous team of brilliant, open-hearted, well-connected individuals, many of whom are in a monthly Wisdom Circle together.
